My husband and are young adults with good jobs and are handy people. My husband has helped redo nearly all of his parents house from roof to plumping and heating. My parents are considering selling their gorgeous house on a giant chunk of land that, in excellent condition, would be a $300,000 house. My husband and I had just started planning to get a house but are still several years away from actually buying one. We currently rent a house. My parents have not kept their house in excellent condition so I'd estimate the actual value at about $175,000. My husband and I are considering buying it since we know 90% of the work we can do ourselves and then turn it around to sell it for it's real value. My parents would sell it to me for the cost of the remaining mortgage: $86,000, but my husband and I have only just started saving for a down payment and do not have 20% especially because we'd also borrow against the equity to begin doing the major repairs. However, I know one can buy a house without a down payment with mortgage insurance, but that you no longer pay it after the loan to value ratio is below 80%. How does that work with a flipped house? Is it based off what the loan is for? What the actual accessed value is? One of the new things is that her mom says is that geico called her up and told her because my girlfriend just got her Drivers License that she has to put her under her policy. She doesnt drive her moms car and is currently looking to get a new one. Is this a normal thing for the Insurance company to call up out of no where and tell them they have to pay because there is a new licensed driver that doesnt even drive the car the policy is on or Is it another way for her mom to gain more money

Auto Insurance Company Lowballing me??? What do I do?

I have a 2001 porsche and this lady just tboned me going through a red light. Now My insurance company wants to offer me about 5000 dollars less then what I can replace it for. I sent them 10 ads in the area close to my car to show them, and they in turn had me appraised by an independent agency. This agency, BIG BLOCK, came back with a dozen examples that all had more miles then mine, and adjusted me .16 cents a mile. After doing depreciation calculations on their examples, the average dep per mile was .60 cents per mile!!!! This changes their evaluation by about 7-8000 dollars overall. Its been two weeks since they totaled my car. What should I do if they keep trying to low ball me?

I am 23 years old and just got my driving license few weeks ago. I am planning to get volkswagen golf match 1.4, but don't know if i will get cheap car insurance for it.. If you know anything please help..does anyone know the exact monthly/yearly cost of the insurance? if it will be too expensive what will be a cheapest one...i don't mind vauxhall corsa but i prefer golf ,and reason is straight forward, we all know :) help would be much appreciated.
